The VACUETTE® Urine STB tube from Greiner Bio-One was developed to ensure the stability of urinalysis samples at room temperature for up to 72 hours – offering labs more flexibility in the collection, storage, transport and stabilization of urine samples for urinalysis and sedimentation.
Urine STB tubes contain a spray-dried preservative made up of ethylparaben, chlorhexidine and sodium propionate to inhibit bacterial and yeast growth, stabilizing key parameters for dipstick tests, clinical chemistry and sediment analysis. The Urine STB tube is evacuated according to volume specifications to ensure the optimal specimen-to-preservative ratio.
Urine STB tubes are available with round or conical bottoms for microscopic examinations, as a standalone tube or pre-packaged into a convenient kit. When used as part of the VACUETTE® Urine System—paired with a Urine Cup with Integrated Transfer Device or a Urine Transfer Device—Urine STB tubes provide for hygienic sample handling and analysis.
