Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology is transforming Forensic Genetic Genealogy (FGG), enabling investigators to rapidly analyze large volumes of DNA data in criminal investigations and cases involving unidentified individuals. The VERSA1100 is a validated liquid handler compatible with Qiagen/Verogen’s ForenSeq Kits, including the ForenSeq® Kintelligence Kit, ForenSeq® mtDNA Whole Genome Kit, and ForenSeq® DNA Signature Prep Kit. Internal validation studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of VERSA 1100 NGS system in analyzing DNA inputs ranging from 8 pg to 4 ng, making it suitable for sequencing highly degraded forensic samples.
